Carson states that Tea Party Members would like to see blacks hanging from trees.

I am not a Tea Party person, but wow...  This is a sad comment on our leaders, and what has become acceptable.

Tired of fighting leadership, tired of hate talk, tired of demonizing the otherside because they have a different opinion.

Couldn't agree more. I have more and more friends from both sides of the political spectrum expressing the same sentiments.

I'm against everything the 'tea party' wants to have done...

But calling them murderous racists is way too far.

I'm not really sure what you think the Tea Party wants to do, but if you think it is evil then you are not listening to both sides. The Tea Party stands for smaller government, upholding the Constitution and freedom for everyone. The reason the Progressives are demonizing the Tea Party is because they cannot find a single leader to demonize. There really is no true leader. What the Progressives are failing to see is that the Tea Party is a mind set. And you can't buy that. I would wager that for every Tea Party member who attends a rally or signs a petition, or phones and writes his congressman there are about 30 people within his circle, (friends and family) who don't do any of those things, BUT they believe in the same polices that his crazy relativeor friend who is out there in the tricorn hat waving a yellow "Don't tread on me" flag. When the Progressives attack the Tea Party they are unwittingly attacking many, many voting Americans. The great sleeping silent giant. I personally think that this will be the undoing of the Progressives. I say, keep up the good work, attack away, and play the blame game like school children. It only serves to prove what kind of a lying, ugly abusive world the Progressives want to force on to Americans. This is indeed the face of the Progressive dictatorship they are striving for. Who in their right mind would choose to live like that on a daily bases?Certainly not the Tea Party nor their followers.

FactOfTheMatter

The Tea Party stands for smaller government, upholding the Constitution and freedom for everyone.

That sounds nice in theory doesn't it?

The reason why I do not support the tea party is many fold:

Small government: How small is small enough? Are we talking about dismantling things like the EPA, the FDA, the Department of Education, Department of Energy? Or we talking about just removing social programs? At what point will there be enough government or are we talking about the complete erosion of the entire Federal government? There are things that I think we should keep around, and as a platform just saying you want something smaller doesn't give me confidence that you're just trimming fat so to speak. I just read in the news that Cantor wants to pair any Irene aid to spending cuts, without talking about what cuts are going to be made. Just walking around with a knife and hacking indiscriminately is worse than having a bloated government.

Upholding The Constitution: No one practices strict adherence to the Constitution because it was a document written a long time ago for what was essentially a different country. Even the most conservative member of the SCOTUS doesn't believe in strict adherence. The same reason why you'd be hard pressed to find a Christian who strictly adheres to the Bible, many parts of it are either irrelevant or not effective for modern issues and modern problems.

Freedom For Everyone: Stating this implies that there are people who aren't free. What exactly is it that is holding you in bondage? Having to pay taxes? Adherence to the law?

The reason why I don't believe in anything the tea party wants to do is because I think what they're proposing will essentially remove any protections for the weakest in our society and putting our trust blindly in the most powerful to 'do the right thing.' There's no checks and balances to keep the private sector from reverting this country back to Upton Sinclair's The Jungle. I think their vision for America sounds ideal, but the reality is far bleaker.

Carson's comments and those who continue to pull the race card when it isn't appropriate increases racial tension, and minimizes real racism. It is the don't "Cry Wolf" thing. There are true racists out there, but when we blanket everyone with that term, it weakens the argument.

I think Obama just got done calling the Tea Party terrorists....

I don't know about you, but for me President Bush was not the model President that all others should try to emulate.
